Enable Edgewide.
One step at a time.
Follow these nine steps on your iPhone. First allow the extension in Settings, then switch Wide on inside Safari.
Tap any screenshot to enlarge it. These screens show iOS 27; controls may sit in different places on your iPhone Duo.
- 1
Open Apps in Settings
Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap Apps.
You should now see the list of installed apps.
- 2
Choose Safari
Find Safari in the Apps list and tap it. You can use the search field to find it faster.
You are now in Safari’s settings.
- 3
Open Extensions
In Safari’s settings, scroll to the General section and tap Extensions.
This is where you manage Safari extensions installed on your iPhone.
- 4
Select Edgewide
Find Edgewide in the extensions list and tap it. If it is missing, make sure the Edgewide app is installed, then open the app once and return here.
You should see Edgewide’s Allow Extension switch.
- 5
Turn on Allow Extension
Turn on the Allow Extension switch for Edgewide. This lets Safari use the extension; you will turn Wide on separately in step 9.
The Allow Extension switch is on.
- 6
Choose website access
For access across websites, tap All Websites under Permissions and choose Allow. If you prefer to choose sites individually, leave access on Ask and approve the websites you want when Safari prompts you.
Edgewide needs permission for the website you want to widen.
- 7
Open Safari’s page menu
Leave Settings and open Safari on your iPhone Duo’s outer display. Visit a normal webpage, then tap the page-menu icon beside the website address.
Safari’s page menu opens. The address bar may be at the top or bottom, depending on your settings.
- 8
Open Edgewide in Safari
Tap Edgewide in Safari’s page menu. If you chose Ask for website access, Safari may ask you to allow access to this website before opening the panel.
The Edgewide panel opens inside Safari.
- 9
Select Wide
Tap Wide in the Edgewide panel, then tap the blue checkmark (Done) to return to your webpage. That’s it. Choose Off in the same panel whenever you want the original layout back.
Wide is selected. Supported mobile pages can use the full outer-display width.
All set. A few useful details.
- Wide starts off. Enabling the extension and granting access are separate from selecting Wide in Safari.
- Website access is your choice. You can allow all websites or approve individual sites when asked. You can change this later in Settings.
- Using a private tab? Also enable Allow in Private Browsing in Edgewide’s extension settings.
- Stay in a normal Safari page. Reader view, the Safari start page, and other display sizes do not use Wide.
- Prefer a site as it was? Select Off or exclude that site in the Edgewide panel.
- After an app update, refresh an existing Safari tab once to load the updated extension.
